LONDON - Filipinos in the United Kingdom are very supportive of the Department of Tourism's new campaign “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”, according to a tourism official in the UK.

Chit Afuang, DOT officer-in-charge in the UK, shared that the new campaign slogan received positive feedback from many Filipinos in the United Kingdom.

“The reactions we get from Filipinos probably we say 98% are really positive,” she said.

According to Afuang, the British market also welcomed the new slogan.

“For the British market, we receive a lot of reactions, congratulating us for the new effective slogan”.

The DOT here is confident that they will exceed their targets of British tourists visiting the Philippines this year.

DOT will also start changing the old WOW Philippines ad that was advertised on London cabs before the 2012 Olympics.

“We are really banking on the fifty taxis that we have in London. We have to change the logo just in time also for the Olympics game,” she said.

Gerry Agatep, a careworker in London, commended the new DOT slogan.

“It’s a good slogan because it shows that the Philippines is really a fun place for tourists,” he said.

But he also stressed that to encourage more foreigners to visit the country, they should be treated very well.

“As soon as tourists arrive in the airport, they should immediately be treated like they are very welcome in our country,” he said.

Efren Smith, a Filipino-British who grew up in London and a constant traveler to the Philippines, also praised the new campaign slogan.

“I think the slogan is good because it makes the Philippines more unique compare to all the other Far East countries,” Smith said.
