Mazda 3, CX-5 launched in PH
MANILA, Philippines – Mazda Philippines updates its offerings with the unveiling of two new models early this month at the NBC tent – the Mazda 3 and CX-5.
The new Mazda 3 distinguishes itself with a new front-end design, a new grille opening, new headlights, and a three-dimensional, jewel effect tail lights.
Mazda also made significant improvements to the car’s suspension system and body reinforcement, having high-tech aerodynamic features like speed flaps that automatically open at highway velocities to allow some air to bypass the cooling fan.
Inside, the Mazda 3 features a black interior with silver trim as accents. Vital switches and controls are color-coded to differentiate them from the less important ones. The car’s entertainment system includes a six-speaker system with six-disc CD changer for the top-of-the-line 2.0L variant, and a single CD system for the 1.6L variant.
The Mazda 3 will be available in three variants – a 1.6L hatchback, 1.6L sedan and a 2.0L sedan.
The CX-5, on the other hand, is a new crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV) inspired by the Mazda Minagi concept car unveiled in the recent Tokyo Motor Show.
The CX-5 also serves as the launch platform for Mazda’s Skyactive technology suite —components that promise to reduce fuel consumption without compromising driving pleasure. This suite is composed of the 2-liter engine Skyactive 6-speed automatic or manual transmission, Skyactive-body shell and Skyactive-chassis suspension system.
Inside, the SUV features white illuminated triple dials and glossy piano black accents. There are also a number of passenger amenities such as folding seats, airbags, and a USB port.
The CX-5 2.0L FWD is priced at P1.452 million for the automatic transmission, and P1.392 million for the manual transmission.
The new Mazda 3, on the other hand, is priced at P999,000 for the Mazda3 1.6LV sedan, P1.099 million for the Mazda3 1.6L V hatchback, and P1.299 million for the Mazd3 2.0L R sedan.
